Both work. Unlike AHA or retinol, azelaic acid does not make your skin more sensitive to light. Sun protection is still part of your morning routine, though, because UV light can intensify redness.

How to use it

After cleansing and toner, apply two to three drops to your face, followed by a moisturiser. Start with once a day. A slight tingling is normal with azelaic acid at the beginning. If it burns strongly, wash the serum off.

Does it go with niacinamide, retinol or acids?

It works well with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Don't introduce retinol and acid peels on the same evening; instead, alternate them until your skin has got used to everything.

Which skin is it for?

For skin that is prone to redness and blemishes, including sensitive skin. If you have rosacea, talk to your dermatologist before starting new skincare.
